Chocolate Chip Blondies

2 pkgs (7.4 oz each) Chocolate Chip Muffin Mix
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
6 Tbsp butter, melted and cooled
1 egg, beated
2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup chopped pecan (optional)

Heat oven to 350. Grease bottom of an 8 inch square baking pan.
In a large bowl, combine muffin mix and brown sugar; stir to blend evenly. Add butter, egg, and vanilla. Stir until well blended. Stir in pecans. Spread evenly into prepared pan.
Bake for 20-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool, and cut into bars.
